COVID-19 Updates to Parish and Archdiocese Operations
Stay Connected to St. John the Apostle Church during Covid-19 Shutdown
We have been working on several ways that you, our parishioners, can stay connected to our parish while we are practicing social distancing:
1) Our office is closed, but we are checking our voicemails and emails regularly.
2) The church will be open Monday through Saturday from 8:00am to 5:00pm (Sundays from 8:00am to 1:00pm) for private prayer and reflection. Please maintain strict social distancing and no more than 10 people in the church at a time. Sanitize the pew before and after use. We'll have wipes by the side door. And wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering and before leaving church. Hand sanitizer is by the side door, too.
Due to the "Stay at Home" order by the Governor, the Parish Office is Closed until further notice.
Emails & Voice Mail will be checked regularly. Call 503-742-8200 or email
All Parish Activities Are Cancelled Indefinitely. Attendance at Holy Mass is by sign-up only.
Sign up by email to or calling 503-742-8202. Please give your name, phone number, how many in the household would like to attend and if you have a preference for weekend or weekday Mass. Keep in mind that there is a dispensation for the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday right now.
If you are not getting messages via SJA Flocknote, sign up now. That’s the main way that we will communicate with our parishioners during this Covid-19 crisis.
Please mail in offertory envelopes or sign up for Faith Direct.
Use FORMED on-line or other resources to help you stay connected to the faith.
CONFESSIONS: If you would like to go to confession this Saturday, Fr. Maxy will hear confessions outside the church at 4:00PM on Saturdays except Holy Saturday. Father will be outside by the bell tower and parishioners will stay in their vehicle. There will be a respectful distance between cars to maintain privacy of the confession. This is in compliance with Church regulations as well as state requirements at this time.
