New Bible Study: Book of the Prophet Isaiah

July 30, 2019

This September, you are invited to explore the Book of the Prophet Isaiah with the SJA Bible study.

St. Jerome likened the book of Isaiah as the gospel of the Old Testament because Isaiah prophesied more about the Messiah than any other book in the Old Testament. He also described in great detail the blessings of the future kingdom of the Messiah. His coming would be as a lion bringing the day of God's wrath, but first He would come as a Savior who would die for the sins of the people. Isaiah focuses on the salvation that will come through the Messiah. The Messiah’s kingdom on earth is the goal towards which all of the Book of Isaiah points.

Delve into the Book of Isaiah using this Catholic Scripture Study International program. Written by Fr. Mitch Pacwa, S.J. with video commentary by Fr. Patrick Winslow, it is an immersive 27 week study designed to go deeper into Isaiah’s writings and what they mean for us today.

Registration will take place after all Masses beginning August 10/11 and continuing August 17/18. Cost of the study is $40. Scholarships are available. Study sessions will begin Sunday PM Sept. 8, Wed PM Sept 11, Thurs AM Sept 12. Childcare is available Sunday evenings. Please contact Kathy Call for more information. 503-349-4181
