Bonnie Faulhaber was born at home in Lost Corners, Arkansas on Nov. 11, 1930, to Etta and James Blaney. She passed away at Willamette Falls Hospital in Oregon City, OR on August 11, 2024, at the age of 93. She was active up until a few weeks before her death succumbing to injuries from a fall she had while on a cruise.
She lived in Arkansas with her parents and sister Clotine until her family moved to Merced, CA for a few years before settling in Silverton, Oregon. She went to school in a one room school house and then attended high school at Baptist Academy in Salem, Oregon. She met Walter Faulhaber while she was still in High school, and they married in 1949. They moved to Portland for 12 years before moving to Oregon City where they raised their three children.
Bonnie attended florist school and became a master gardener. She had a love of gardening and growing flowers and at 93 was still able to get on her hands and knees to work in her beloved yard.
She and her daughter Jean had a successful business, The Country Rose, located in downtown Milwaukie from 1980 – 1990. Here she was able to put her many talents to use, teaching classes from flower arranging to making ribbon roses and selling gift items they purchased on their many buying trips as well as their hand-made crafts.
Bonnie is proceeded in death by Walter her husband of 66 years, her sister Clotine and her parents. She is survived by her 3 children Dennis Faulhaber, Jean (Tom) Miller and Tina (Will) Griffin. She was a wonderful grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Bonnie was a gracious, kind and loving woman. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Her life will be celebrated at St John the Apostle Catholic church, 417 Washington St in Oregon City, OR on Friday October 18th. A rosary will be held at 11 am and mass at 11:30 am. followed by a reception in the school cafeteria.
