John Walter Jansky died peacefully at home on October 7, 2024 with his loving family at his side. He was 77 years old. John was born on February 25, 1947 to his parents Albert and Betty Jansky. He worked for the City of St. Paul from 1965-1990. John was married to his beloved wife Genevieve for 41 years until she passed. Together they welcomed two daughters, Christine and Janelle. They resided in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, in the house he proudly built, until he relocated to Oregon City in 2007. John fought his battle with vascular dementia for 8 years with grace, as he faced all the challenges in his life. He loved music and his elaborate audio stereo system, which grew over the years. He found great joy in traveling: Disney World and Hawaii were his favorites. He was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle person, and he will be deeply missed by so many. Preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve and daughter, Christine. John leaves behind beloved daughter, Janelle (Dean) Birchfield of Oregon City, OR; grandchildren Michael (Elisabeth) Jansky, Aaron Birchfield, Christian Meyer and Marie Meyer; brother, Michael (Laureen) Jansky; special friend, Marilyn Gordon ; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews and PWOP friends from St. John's.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Apostle Church at 11:00 AM followed by a lunch reception. Livestream Website: sja-catholicchurch.com In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
