Michael Anthony Garcia

Michael Anthony Garcia, affectionately known as "Pops and Papa" lived a beautiful life. He was born and raised in Monterey Park, CA, on August 15, 1956, to loving parents Rudolph and Esther Garcia. He attended St. Benedict Elementary School, Cantwell High School, and Loyola Marymount University, where he played football. He had a deep passion for both football and golf.

He was a hardworking man dedicated to his family, everything he did was for them. He worked at Levitz Furniture for many years, where he met his wife of 40 years, Rachelle. They married on October 21, 1984, and initially lived in Huntington Beach, CA. In 1987, they bought a home in Oceanside, CA, where they raised their three wonderful sons: Michael, Paul, and Matthew. In 2001, a new chapter began when he was offered a job at Maxim Semiconductor, which led the family to Oregon, where he remained until his passing on November 15, 2024.

Michael was a magnetic force with a contagious smile; people gravitated toward him, and he embraced and loved them all. A man of God, he was full of compassion, love, care, and charm. He showed God's love every day and was a true gentleman.

Michael passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Esther Garcia, and his brother David. He is survived by his wife Rachelle, their three sons: Matthew, Paul, and Michael; daughter-in-law Alishia; granddaughters Eliana and Isla; and sister Yolanda Aranda.

Michael, we will miss you immensely. You were our "go-to" when life got rough, our sanity in this crazy world, and our comfort when we needed clarity. You were always someone we could count on. Although you were a straight shooter, you always communicated your point without judgment, offering us sound advice. You made sure we thought things through before making decisions, always giving 110% and never stopping in your fight for what’s right. Because of you, we have the hearts of lions, the love of our family, and an unshakable work ethic. We thank you for your wise words, the love you gave us, and the beautiful lives we’ve lived because of your hard work and boundless love. We are all better people because of you. We will forever keep you in our hearts with God. Thank you for teaching us the most important life lesson: God's love. He has taken you home to eternal peace. Until we meet again. Love you forever.
