Penelope Susan Hegenbart Obituary





Penny passed away at her home in Oregon City, Oregon on February 25, 2021. She was 77 years old. Penny was born in Phoenix, Arizona on Christmas Day in 1943. Penny traveled in her childhood years to Texas and Nevada. She moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1954 with her family and she graduated from Lathrop High School in 1962. She was married and then divorced. Penny had many great jobs while living in Fairbanks. She worked for MUS, the State of Alaska at the District Attorneys Office, and for many years was the manager at the City of Fairbanks Federal Credit Union. This is where she met the love of her life, Michael Hegenbart in 1978 and whom she married in 1979. They built their dream home together in the foothills of Fairbanks where they lived until 1989. It was at that time she and Mike moved to Oregon City, Oregon. Penny returned to school to become a Registered Nurse. She graduated in 1996 from Clackamas Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree with Honors. She loved nursing. She leaves behind her husband, Mike, two daughters, Stephanie, and Deborah and four grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Joseph, and Laura, and her great-grandson, Marlo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marguerite (Sally) Milliken, and her brother, Ken Berg. Her Funeral Mass will be held on March 12, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at St. John the Apostle Catholic Cemetery in Oregon City, Oregon. She will be forever missed.
